Senior Product Marketing Manager, Developers

Remote (San Francisco, CA) San Francisco, CA

Job Details

  • Slack is hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager focused on the developer experience. You’ll be responsible for helping our diverse developer audience succeed with our platform, including corporate developers from Slack customers like Target and Hearst, and partner developers in our app ecosystem from AWS to Zapier
  • In this high impact role, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the future of the platform and engage a thriving community with more than 1 million Slack app developers. You’ll be responsible for inspiring, educating, and incentivizing developers to build impactful apps using the Slack API, helping them see the art of the possible with the platform and equipping them with the resources and tools to be successful. You will champion the voice of developers and form a rich understanding of this audience to inform our product roadmap, lead go-to-market strategy, and drive adoption of Slack’s priority platform features and developer tools.
  • We’re looking for someone who has a builder mentality and knack for navigating ambiguity, thrives in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment, and can swiftly balance overarching strategy with tactical execution. This position is part of the Platform Marketing team and reports to the Director of Platform Product Marketing.
  • Slack has a positive, diverse, and supportive culture—we look for people who are curious, inventive, and work to be a little better every single day. In our work together we seek to be smart, humble, hardworking and, above all, collaborative. If this sounds like a good fit for you, why not say hello?

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead end-to-end product marketing for the developer experience — from informing product strategy and building go-to-market strategy, to supporting product launches and driving adoption for priority developer platform features and tools.
  • Drive the developer path to GTM for our next gen platform, including nurturing early adopter beta customers into advocates, working with business development to recruit partner developers for betas, developing an integrated marketing launch plan, and more.
  • Create audience-centric product positioning and messaging, using research, market and competitive insights, and a deep understanding of how our platform works to communicate authentically and fluently to a technical audience.
  • Be a trusted cross-functional expert of the developer audience, collaborating closely with teams like Product, Design, Engineering, Developer Relations, Business Development, Technical Architects, and the broader marketing org.
  • Build the overall Slack developer journey in partnership with Developer Marketing, infusing your product expertise and key messaging into marketing channels like our blog, webinar program, @SlackAPI social, email and newsletters, and more.
  • Partner with the broader marketing org to create a cohesive developer track of content at priority events, including Slack Frontiers and Salesforce Dreamforce.

What you should have:

  • 5-7+ years of relevant marketing experience in a B2B SaaS environment, preferably working on a platform or developer-facing product
  • Experience partnering closely with product, marketing, customer success, and other cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including communicating technical subject matter to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong technical curiosity, including the ability to both dive into the details and understand technical topics, but also zoom out and communicate bigger picture impact
  • Have a passion for Slack’s brand, product, and customers!
  • For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $128,000. You may also be entitled to receive bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
