Who You Are

The Senior Competitive Intelligence & Strategy Manager, Emerging Markets will develop the internal capabilities for Geotab to have a complete view of emerging trends, opportunities and threats to ensure global leadership in fleet telematics from a product and strategy perspective. Conduct research analysis to develop insights on elements impacting the future success of Geotab globally and apply the data to different segments and territories.


What You’ll Do

As part of the Product Marketing team, this position will lead an ongoing stream of work as it relates to, but not limited to, products, portfolios and special projects to inform all internal key stakeholders such as Product, Sales, etc.


How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Manage CI research projects on emerging trends, use cases and competitors, sharing acquired knowledge with internal teams with proactive data to ensure strategic decisions and positioning.
  • Perform market analysis on emerging trends and competitors including new market presence, expansion of capabilities, new partnerships and M&A activity.
  • Provide input to competitive intelligence assets including battlecards, multi-competitor comparisons, slide decks and other enablement materials with the appropriate level of details.
  • Develop industry and vertical overviews and identifying future market opportunities to help inform product portfolio prioritization, GTM strategies.
  • Identify existing portfolio gaps against future market opportunities and communicate observations Product & Product Management on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with Sales to collect feedback from customers on market activity to identify opportunities and make recommendations for Geotab.


What You’ll Bring To This Role

  • 10+ years experience in strategy and competitive/market intelligence roles supporting a matrixed environment.
  • 8+ years experience in managing and developing business cases and executive summaries of key industries working closely with research firms.
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, Political Science or a related field.
  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is highly valued.
  • Deep knowledge of the overall telematics industry and verticals are a must.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple teams managing concurrent project deliverables
  • Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Geotab products and solutions.
  • Superior writing skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and to make well-judged decisions.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
  • Must be flexible with work schedules to accommodate different time zones.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to travel internationally. Passport required.
  • This position has no direct reports.
