Product Market Analyst

We're seeking a strategic Product Market Analyst with expertise using data and insights to develop narratives and product positioning. You'll also be calculating product TAM's, assessing the potential and adoption of products, and know how to balance high-level thinking and execution to get things done. You will be analyzing reports, data, and following emerging trends in the market, including the competitive landscape and possess expert knowledge of competitive strategies. In this newly created role, the Product Market Analyst will report directly to our CEO.


You will be tasked with helping CapIntel analyze services or recommend changes to existing ones. You will also analyze marketing strategies to promote company products and services to the target market. You'll back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful. Additionally, you'll identify business opportunities to meet consumer demands and public interests, attract potential clients, and negotiate business partnerships.


What you'll do

  • Conduct product market intelligence and research across the wealth and asset management industries
  • Compile and evaluate primary and secondary data from both internal and external sources.
  • Build relationships and trust with key stakeholders
  • Create presentations, conduct financial analysis, and assess the potential of products & market research
  • Compile information, data & conduct research and report back to the CEO
  • Select, analyze and interpret data to understand business performance, identify trends, and recommend and implement actions/solutions
  • Assess value proposition, conduct data analysis and competitive positioning to identify industry trends and uncover key opportunities for the organization

Who you are and what you bring

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Superior analytical, problem-structuring, and problem-solving skills; experience synthesizing data into actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Expert Excel, PowerPoint and MS office tools knowledge
  • An avid learner who stays ahead of trends and is confident in their ability to learn new technologies and adapt to constantly evolving demands
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical capabilities, as well as expertise in doing sophisticated product marketing analysis
  • Knowledge and experience of case study analysis gained through the completion of an MBA, Bachelor of Commerce or direct work experience
  • Bold, gritty and curious character

  • Remote first. We trust our teammates to find the work location that allows them to do their best work – remotely or in person. We're a Canadian based, remote-first environment, with in-office collaboration zones and individual workspaces in Gatineau, QC or Halifax, NS and hubs of virtual employees in Southwestern Ontario (and a few others scattered across Canada). We do find value in our teammates being able to connect, collaborate, learn from and mentor one another, so we may request you to travel to a central location for periodic team meetings.
  • Eastern time zone We operate in the Eastern Time Zone and trust you to manage your work responsibilities in the time that supports your teammates, feeds your ingenuity, and creates a sustainable and healthy balance with your personal life.
