Competitive Intelligence Manager

Datto, the world’s leading platform for MSP-delivered IT solutions, is looking for a dynamic, competitive and intelligence minded person with a wide variety of background experience in technology.

Starting from the strategic vision of Datto products and channel partners, you will join our competitive intelligence program which encompasses all of Datto’s products including business continuity, business management, networking, and SaaS app protection. Working with a diverse team of product management, engineering, marketing, and sales, you will analyze the competitive marketplace and specific competitors to identify strengths, weaknesses, and differentiators in business and technical capabilities. Working with our MSPs in the field, you will develop detailed knowledge of the industry and our partners, and understand how our products are used daily. You will then empower sales and partners to position and sell Datto Products.

You will also work with our product organization and our leadership team to help strategically advance our current and new product initiatives. Individuals will need to be comfortable working in an energized and expanding company. 

A Look Inside The Job

• Deeply understand Datto and competitor products and their position in the market
• Manage competitive strategy and analysis for Datto within a defined technology group
• Work in the field in partnership with our sales teams and leading MSPs to develop and share competitive insights and differentiators
• Support a global, flourishing marketing and sales organization to build out compelling competitive content including competitive battle-cards, presentations and other relevant assets
• Produce rapid-response and analysis of competitive moves in the market
• Train sales team and partners on competitive differentiation on an ongoing basis
• Promote Datto competitive differentiation through all channels 
• Work and Collaborate with the Datto leadership, Sales, Business Partners,Marketing, Operations, and Product teams to translate competitive insights into valuable and concrete recommendations

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in business or technology field
• Five years minimum experience in competitive intelligence product management, product marketing or solutions sales for enterprise software vendors
• Experience developing essential competitive messages and communicating competitive strategy
• Expertise in any of Backup & Disaster Recovery, Cloud Continuity, Business Management, IT Support Systems, Security and Public/Private cloud will be beneficial to this role
• Proven ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly will be beneficial to this role
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and interact with sales enablement and product management will be a critical part of this role
• Understanding of the channel IT market will be beneficial to this role
• Amazing interpersonal skills that allow you to provide information to both technical and non-technical audiences, and partner with customers
• You love taking on complex challenges using creative, out of the box solutions
• You notice the little details, know that improvement is a continuous process and love being a fantastic teammate that contributes to winning and success
• Collaborative with a can-do attitude; ability to take an initiative and run with a project with limited supervision or direction
